thinksn is an independent project built and operated by a single developer — not a company. This Privacy Policy explains how thinksn ("we," "us," or "our," used here for simplicity) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website at thinksn.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices, including about the limits of what a small, independent operation can guarantee.

Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Query data: The questions and topics you enter to generate semantic networks.

• Usage data: How you interact with the application, including which networks you view and expand.

• Anonymous identifiers: A randomly generated ID stored in your browser to maintain session continuity without requiring an account.

• Technical data: Browser type, device type, IP address, and page load times, collected automatically for performance monitoring.

• Account data (if signed in): Email address, provided when you sign in. Authentication is handled through Firebase Auth; you can optionally set up a passkey for faster sign-in next time.

How we use your information

We use collected information to:

• Generate and serve semantic networks in response to your queries.

• Maintain your library of saved networks across sessions.

• Improve the quality and accuracy of the AI model and analytical framework.

• Monitor and ensure the security and availability of the service.

• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage to store your anonymous ID and your network library locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly share a network link. We also use cookies for:

• Essential cookies: Required for the application to function (session management, security tokens).

• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics, loaded only after you consent. These help us understand aggregate usage patterns.

You can manage cookie preferences at any time using the consent banner or by clearing your browser data.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise: To prevent automated abuse. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

• Google Analytics: For aggregate usage analytics, loaded only with consent.

• Firebase Authentication: Handles email and passkey sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy (Firebase is a Google product).

• Monetag: For serving sponsored links that help defray operating costs. Ad networks may use cookies independently.

• Firebase / Google Cloud: Backend infrastructure for storing network data and user accounts.

Data retention

Network data (the nodes and edges generated by your queries) is stored on our servers indefinitely so that share links remain valid. Your anonymous identifier is stored in your browser until you clear it. If you have an account, your data is retained until you delete your account.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.

• Request correction of inaccurate data.

• Request deletion of your data.

• Withdraw consent for analytics at any time.

• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Data security

We use HTTPS encryption and standard access controls, and take reasonable care to protect your data. As an independent, single-developer project, our capacity for security review is more limited than a larger company's — we do what we reasonably can, but no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of transmitted data.

Children's privacy

thinksn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International users

thinksn is operated by an individual based in France. The backend infrastructure (Firebase / Google Cloud) may process and store data in the United States or other regions, regardless of where you or the operator are located. Data protection laws in those regions may differ from those in your own country.

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and disclose, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. EU/EEA residents (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or EEA, the legal bases for processing your data are: performance of a contract (to provide the service you requested), legitimate interests (security monitoring, abuse prevention), and consent (analytics cookies). You have the rights described under "Your rights" above.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of thinksn after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
